Skegness was one of the UK’s first traditional seaside resorts and so it’s only natural that it has now become one of the premier destinations for bucket and spade holidays.
Brilliant place for kids. Accommodation spot on. Highly recommend taking the food court option as on site prices were quite expensive. Plenty of activities to do especially the swimming pools. a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
Where do I begin....
Travelled with my best friend and her two children of 3 & 6.
Firstly, we were upgraded to gold ac accommodation for free a week before arrival which was lovely.
On arrival check in was so quick and easy. Our room was clean, fresh and had more then we needed. Housekeeping came in daily and refreshed our towels, made our beds and generally tidied. We had a slight leaky toilet - popped to guest services and highlighted the issue and someone was at our accommodation within 10 minutes!!!
We took out the dining plan which was great value for money and always something for everyone to eat...
My only complaint is that if you arrive at approx 6pm you find a lot of the food empty
There was so so much for everyone to enjoy round the park!!! The beach, pool, arcades, characters, discos, shows.. I could go on.
We went to Gandeys circus whilst here and it WAS AMAZING and fun for all the family.
We had the best time and will 100% be back!!
Lastly - all the staff from the restaurant staff, redcoats, housekeepers, shop staff, gardeners are so helpful and welcoming. Really made our holiday.
This is our 2nd visit to the resort, we only tend to go on the adults only music weekends. The weekend we chose was “Back to the 2000’s”.
The facilities are great, we have done a room only with dining package and self catering now and both have worked for us. The dining package was great and included breakfast and evening meal. The choice of food was a wide variety and there is something for everyone. I loved that I could have an omelette made to my request for breakfast.
We did have an issue with our external door not locking on arrival and called maintenance, they arrived within 30 minutes to fix the issue, brilliant service and he was the friendliest handyman.
The entertainment on offer through the day and evening were well organised and fantastic quality, it was brilliant reliving the last decade and getting to see some amazing acts (The actual Scouting for Girls was my favourite).
The bars were well managed and you didn’t have to queue to long for a drink which is always preferable.
After a heavy night of partying, there are plenty of early morning options for food before bed.
The rooms are clean on arrival but not visited during the stay, it is only 3 nights through.
The resort is close to the beach weather permitting and most days we walked into Ingoldmells and spent time round the markets and funfair. It’s also just a short bus ride into Skegness.
I’ve done all 3 of the Butlins resorts for the music weekends over the last few years and Skegness is my favourite and will be my first choice to return to.
